Matemwe is quiet and suits you that are looking for sun and beach. There are plenty cosy lodges and bars to visit for a drink/coffee/lunch/dinner. Some of them have music events. It is close enough for a day trip to Nungwi.

Handicraft

The village of Matemwe stretches in parallel of the beach and have some handicraft that might be interesting to see. Especially the women weaving “ukili” a natural straw material that they turn into bags, hats, carpet and other beautiful things. A walk in the village is recommended for anyone want to see a bit how life is lived here.
