We will go to a Spice Farm for a tour where you will see, smell and try the tropical fruits and spices in season: vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, lemon grass, cloves, ylang ylang, cumin, garlic, ginger, coriander, pepper, tamarind, chili, oregano and many others.
After lunch at the farm we continue to Chueni /Bububu for overnight (6 km) at Mangrove Lodge – an Eco-lodge surrounded by a tropical garden with spices, coconut palms and mango trees. The sunset can be watched while lying on the warm sand.
Day 3 nungwi
Early morning ride to Zanzibars´Northern point, Nungwi, via Mkokotoni, a small genuine fishing village where locals take the boat to Tumbatu and where you will find an authentic fruit and fish market (53km). Nungwi is the most vivid place on the island but still very cute and Zanzibari. You have the village to explore and the sea here is amazing and with no tide to talk about you can swim from the shore 24/7.
Afternoon, dinner and overnight in Nungwi, Flame Tree Cottages. Flame Tree Cottages is a peaceful place with small villas. We love that they serve breakfast on your private veranda and that the beach- and nightlife is merely a 200 m away.
Day 4 Matemwe
Early morning departure to Matemwe (26 km) for snorkeling at Mnemba atoll. Mnemba Atoll is a Marine Conservation area with a vast oval reef system. The reefs surrounding the island are colorful and you can expect to see lion fish, moray eels and stingrays swimming around in the shallow water. If we are lucky you can jump in the water surrounded by dolphins.
