Day 1 Jambiani

In the authentic village Jambiani we will meet a piece of Africa. Goats, ducks and lots of cheerful kids are running around and the life on the beach is vivid yet calm.
Dinner and overnight at Red Monkey Lodge, situated on the best beach on Zanzibar (acc.to us). The atmosphere is laid back, lazy and barefoot.
Day 2 Jambiani to Pongwe
Crossing Chwaka Bay in boat
Today we bike along the coast to Michamvi ( 22 km) where we catch a wood dhow and pack bikes and ourselves to cross Chwaka Bay. Reaching Pongwe (13 km) and Seasons Lodge we will enjoy this amazing place and have lunch and dinner. If you want you can stop at Pingwe and take something to drink at Upendo overlooking the famous restaurant The Rock.
Seasons Lodge is a favorite for its special location and private bungalows with the bed overlooking the sea. Mornings are amazing here so if you enjoy the morning light- get up early.
Day 3 Stone Town
This is a lush and green day! On our way to Chueni ( 44 km) we cross the Kiwengwa/Pongwe Forest Reserve – an important biodiversity spot in the coral rag zone. The forest reserve is rich both in fauna and floral species. With some luck we can spot Red Colobus Monkeys, Sykes, Blue Monkeys, Sunni antelope and several species of snakes, 47 bird species and 100 plant species including many medicinal species .
After passing the rice- and bean fields where you can follow the farm life on Zanzibar, we reach the Spice farms area. There we stop for a tour where you will see, smell and try the tropical fruits and spices in season: vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg, turmeric, lemon grass, cloves, ylang ylang, cumin, garlic, ginger, coriander, pepper, tamarind, chili, oregano and many others. Lunch will be eaten with raw material from the farm. Made by the women o the farm. We promise- it is tasty!
18.00 Roof top dinner at Emerson on Hurumzi . The best roof top in town where you will enjoy 270 degrees sea view accompanied by the call for prayers and the tingling sound from the Shiva temple below. All while you lean back against the cushions enjoying a cross kitchen Swahili influenced 3 course meal.
Overnight at Kholle House – a personal boutique hotel with a feeling of home and lots of beautiful balconies and terraces to enjoy.
Day 4 Stone Town
After early breakfast Stone Town walking tour to experience the buzzling life in the narrow streets where men shout over bao games and women bake chapati on the streets where the kids are running around.
Stone Town is a UNESCO world heritage site and a humming mysterious place where people live and enjoy their life on display in the narrow alleys. Here Africa meets Oman and you can see, feel and smell the mix of different cultures and heritages as the citizens cook their food on the street, children are playing and the men plays bao in the corner debating what the next move should be.
End of tour around 2 pm
